Bao'an will host three sections of the Third China (Shenzhen) Innovation & Entrepreneurship International Competition on April 9 and serve as a subvenue of the 17th Conference on International Exchange of Professionals.

The Bao’an District Government organized three preliminary contests in Berlin, Toronto and Stockholm at the end of March, attracting 606 entries. On April 9, 55 winners of the preliminary contests will compete in the finals of the Internet and mobile Internet (Information Technology) and advanced manufacturing industry competitions, as well as the Internet of Things (IoT) professional competition.

The preliminaries were held in 10 overseas cities and regions, namely Madrid, Boston, Stockholm, Sydney, Toronto, Berlin, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Silicon Valley and London. Across all of the contests, from the overseas preliminaries to the finals in China, the organizers are offering a total of 11.2 million yuan (US$1.67 million) in awards.

More than 100 winning projects in the preliminary contests will compete for the top awards in the professional contest final, industry contest final and overall final. The overall winner will receive a top award of 1.4 million yuan.

The contestants will gain exposure to 40 well-known investment institutions, which form an innovation and investment capital pool of 25 billion yuan and will make portfolio investments in the outstanding projects in the competition.

More than 10 talent exchange activities will be held at the Bao’an subvenue of the 17th Conference on International Exchange of Professionals.

Bao’an will also organize major companies to recruit talents at job fairs at the main venue of the 17th Conference on International Exchange of Professionals on April 14 and 15 in Shenzhen as well as the conference’s Hong Kong subvenue.

As part of its efforts to tap the opportunities brought by the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Bao’an is helping local venture investment companies and technological parks find overseas innovation projects and attract innovation talents to the district.
