Roads, bridges put into service in Qianhai

The first batch of roads and bridges in the construction of a new city center in Qianhai, including 10 arteries and three landscape bridges, were put into service yesterday.

They include Linhai Avenue, Tinghai Avenue, Guiwan Road 1, Qianwan Road 3, No. 2 Bridge, No. 6 Bridge and No. 11 Bridge. The total traffic mileage reaches 5.1 kilometers.

Tian Fu, director of the Authority of China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qianhai & Shekou Area and director of the new city center construction headquarters, announced the official opening at a ceremony.

No. 11 Bridge is 215 meters long. It is a two-way six-lane bridge connecting Menghai Avenue in the south and Xinhu Road in Bao’an District in the north.

Additionally, a series of events were held to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the establishment of China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qianhai & Shekou Area.

The first national innovation alliance for free trade areas was set up in Qianhai yesterday. The alliance was proposed by China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qianhai & Shekou Area, and jointly initiated by 21 authorities of free trade areas across the country. It aims to facilitate cooperation in reform and innovative development. The secretariat was set up in Qianhai.

Qianhai Sports Park, the first sports-themed park in Qianhai, was officially opened to the public yesterday. Located between Shenzhen-Hong Kong innovation center and Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway, the sports park is a stone’s throw from Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub and Enterprise Dream Park.

The park occupies an area of 71,400 square meters and is equipped with three basketball courts, two tennis courts, one standard football field, a circular track and a recreation trail.
