Three areas in Bao’an District have been included in the planning of Shenzhen National High-tech Zone, according to an expansion blueprint of the high-tech zone recently published by the Shenzhen city government, the Bao’an Daily reported.

Meanwhile, emerging industries like Internet, biomedicine and life health, and artificial intelligence will be developed to form five to eight industrial clusters with annual output value of 100 billion yuan. The PCT applications in the high-tech zone will account for more than 70 percent of the city’s total, and it’s State-level high-tech enterprises and social R&D investment will account for more than 60 percent of the city’s total.

The long-term goal is to build the zone into a first-rate high-tech zone with global influence, an important base of high-end industrial development and the main node in the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao innovation corridor by 2035.
