The new ferry service between the Shenzhen airport ferry terminal and Zhuhai Jiuzhou Ferry Terminal was officially launched recently, the Bao’an Daily reported.

With the new service, the Shenzhen airport has created a comprehensive traffic network linking air traffic with the other three modes of transportation, namely road, ocean and rail. The opening of the service will also facilitate the airport’s role as an important traffic hub in the Greater Bay Area.

The project is not only an essential step concerning people’s livelihood that was listed in the 2019 report on the work of the Shenzhen Municipal Government but also an important strategy in strengthening connectivity in the Greater Bay Area, the report said.

Although ferries have been available between Zhuhai and Shekou, the distance between Shekou and the Shenzhen airport extends the traveling time.

With the new ferry route, it takes around 65 minutes for travelers in Zhuhai to get to the Shenzhen airport ferry terminal. Travelers can then take free shuttle buses directly to the airport terminals.

Eight ferry services run in each direction. The ferries to Zhuhai depart at 8:50 a.m., 10:20 a.m., 11:50 a.m., 1:20 p.m., 3 p.m., 4:35 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., while those going to the Shenzhen airport ferry terminal depart at 7:30 a.m., 8:50 a.m., 10:20 a.m., 11:50 a.m., 1:20 p.m., 3:05 p.m., 4:35 p.m. and 6:10 p.m.

The Shenzhen airport ferry terminal also offers ferry services to Hong Kong, Macao, Zhongshan and Zhuhai. Additionally, the Zhuhai City terminals, one at Gongbei and the other at Xiangzhou, have been opened with nine transportation services running between Zhuhai and Shenzhen, according to the report.
