Twenty-two activities will be held at the main venue and 14 subvenues across the city during the weeklong 2019 National Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week Shenzhen Venue and Fifth Shenzhen International Maker Week, which is scheduled to run from Thursday to June 19, the Shenzhen Economic Daily reported yesterday.

Themed “Make With Shenzhen,” this year’s maker week has set up its main venue in Futian District, with 14 subvenues across the city. The activities at the main venue, Futian Hi-tech Exhibition Center, include the launch ceremony, a themed exhibition, an exhibition on the achievements of international makers and a themed activity.

According to the Daily, the activities at the main venue will be open to the public throughout the week, while the subvenues in each district and new area will try to stimulate residents’ enthusiasm to participate in the maker week by hosting a number of thematic exhibitions and entrepreneurship competitions, according to the Daily report.

For instance, the subvenue in Bao’an District will showcase high-quality entrepreneurship projects and innovative sci-tech achievements to the public through three distinctive exhibitions.

This year’s maker week has also invited innovative companies, maker institutions and maker projects from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to participate.

First launched in 2015, Shenzhen Maker Week is an important part of the National Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week, and has served as an international platform showcasing local entrepreneurship and innovative projects and achievements.
