Drivers who randomly park their cars in parking lots and block other vehicles or traffic will be fined 500 yuan (US$72.55), according to traffic police, who will initiate an action to curb such violations.

According to rules, police can order the violators to move their cars at the request of the parking lot’s management. Otherwise, police can tow the cars away and impose a 500-yuan fine.

Considering the current parking difficulties, police said drivers who park in a non-parking space that doesn’t obstruct traffic and firefighting lanes will be exempted from fines if they leave their phone number on their car, keep contact and follow the instructions of the parking management.

The parking management reserves the right to correct random parking and report cases to police by calling 0755-8333-3333 or logging onto http://szjj.sz.gov.cn to make a report if the violator refuses to follow their instruction. They can also upload video clips or photos to the police microblog as evidence for the report.

If the parking management fails to honor their duties, leading to chaotic and random parking, the operator will face a fine of between 2,000 and 10,000 yuan, and even the revocation of its operating license in serious situations.
