Animal fossils and specimens are on display at the “Natural History Museum at Free Sky” exhibition at the top of Shenzhen’s highest building, Ping An Finance Center.

It’s a great opportunity for children to learn about the extinct life of the ancient world through the exhibition because it features fossils of a stegodon, a woolly rhinoceros, a saber tooth tiger and a megalosaurus, as well as countless butterfly specimens.

Megalosaurus is an extinct genus of meat-eating theropod dinosaurs from the Middle Jurassic period, 166 million years ago, in present-day England. Fossils from other areas have also been assigned to the genus.

A saber tooth tiger is any member of various extinct groups of predatory mammals that were characterized by long, curved saber-shaped canine teeth. The large maxillary canine teeth extended from the mouth even when it was closed. The saber tooth tigers were found worldwide from the Eocene epoch to the end of the Pleistocene epoch 42 million years ago.

Due to the distinctive ridges on the Stegodon’s molars, it is a genus of the extinct subfamily Stegodontinae of the order Proboscidea. Stegodonts were present from 11.6 million years ago to the late Pleistocene, with unconfirmed records of localized survival until 4,100 years ago. They lived across Asia and Africa.
