Polish-born pianist Aleksandra Labinska will play Mozart’s“Violin Sonata No.21,” Tchaikovsky’s“Memory of a Dear Place,” Sarasate’s“Romanza Andaluza” and some Chinese pieces, including“Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto” composed by Chen Gang and He Zhanhao. Portuguese pianist Ines Andrade will accompany her.


Labinska holds doctorate and master’s degrees from the Boston University College of the Arts and her undergraduate studies were completed at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music and University of Toronto. She is a versatile violinist performing as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player throughout the world. She has collaborated with artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Placido Domingo, and the“Game of Thrones” production team, to name a few.


Labinska teaches at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Music Department and sometimes at the Luzerne Music Center. Her previous appointments included Boston University Tanglewood Institute Violin Workshop Faculty, South Shore Conservatory, Point CounterPoint Music Center and Boston Suzuki Institute collaboration.


Andrade is an avid and versatile soloist and chamber musician. She was praised for her“lyricism and wonderful musicianship,” as well as her“excellent technique and elaborate touch,” after her performance of Grieg’s“Piano Concerto” with the Lisbon Sinfonietta Orchestra. She has taught at New York University and Boston University. She is currently on faculty at the EKS Music School and the Kingsley Montessori School.
