The Standing Committee of the Bao’an District Committee of the CPC convened an enlarged meeting Monday, emphasizing the implementation of the guideline that details Shenzhen’s goals in serving as a pilot demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

The guideline was issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the State Council on Sunday.

The meeting pointed out that the support of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council in Shenzhen’s building of a pilot demonstration area is an important decision that President Xi Jinping has planned and promoted personally. It entrusts Shenzhen with a major task that must be accomplished.

It was noted that the guideline marked a milestone of the reform and opening-up process in Shenzhen, and the news is a great impetus, inspiration and confidence booster for the whole district.

The meeting, presided by Bao’an Party chief Yao Ren, stressed that implementing the guideline is currently Bao’an District’s top priority and political task. The great significance and strategic purpose of the guideline should be fully realized, and new actions and measures should be taken to chart a new course for Bao’an’s development.

It was emphasized that the district should seize the opportunities, carry out a number of major reform and innovation projects, optimize the grass-roots governance system and further explore the construction of specialized traditional Chinese medicine hospitals.

Bao’an should give full play to its unique location advantages and strong industrial foundation, and actively participate in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, according to the meeting.

The district should play a leading role in coordinating the development of western Shenzhen, join forces with Qianhai to build a world-leading city center in Shenzhen and build a world-class advanced manufacturing industry cluster in the Greater Bay Area.

The meeting called on the entire district to leverage its strengths to help Shenzhen build a pilot demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics through practical actions.
