Wutong Mountain Scenic Area, whose peak on Great Wutong stands at 943.7 meters, has been closed to visitors since Monday due to slope collapses.
Photos circulated online show landslides that broke trees and blocked a road.
The park management said on its WeChat account that the closure is to prevent secondary disasters and ensure the safety of travelers.
It is unknown when the park will reopen, and the park management said it will depend on the weather.
Wutong Mountain Scenic Area, which is located in the east of Shenzhen, spans Luohu, Yantian and Longgang districts. It is a destination for hikers and tourists. With an area of 31 square kilometers, it includes Donghu Park, Fairy Lake Botanical Garden and Shatoujiao Forest Farm.
Due to the heavy rain caused by typhoons in recent weeks, the soil on some slopes along the roads has become loose, posing a threat to the safety of travelers.
The city will experience another round of heavy rain this week because of Typhoon Tajiki, the 14th typhoon of the year, which formed earlier yesterday.
At around 5 a.m., it was about 1,000 kilometers southwest of Shenzhen. After swirling around the central area of Vietnam for two days, it will start to move northeasterly toward the coast of Guangdong, according to Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory.
