Incentives offered to film and TV industry

Bao'an District will offer an award of up to 12 million yuan (US$1.68 million) for the creation of film and television works that are themed around the district, and subsidies of up to 5 million yuan to film and television enterprises that settle in Bao’an.

The move is part of the district’s latest efforts to promote the development of the film and television industry in Bao’an, according to a document released by the district Friday.

The district has formulated supportive policies to bolster the industry around 10 aspects, ranging from the introduction of enterprises to the creation of high-quality films and television programs.

Yao Ren, Party chief of Bao’an District, said that the policies not only demonstrate the district’s support for the film and television industry, but also reflect its sincerity for introducing film and television companies, talents and technical teams to settle in Bao’an.

“We can feel Bao’an’s candid support for the film and television industry. These policies are down-to-earth and can really help enterprises,” said Cai Youxue, assistant to the chairman of Shenzhen Dingjunshan Technology Co. Ltd.

Cai believes that more influential film and television enterprises will be attracted to Bao’an, which will help the district build a complete film and television industry chain.

Bao’an has also incorporated a policy for introducing film and television talents through the its “1,000 Project” for urgently needed talents, according to the Bao’an Daily.

At present, Bao’an has two major film and television industrial parks, 73 film and television enterprises and 69 cinemas.
