Donghai in Futian

Xiangmihu Subdistrict in Futian District is set apart by its distinctive economic characteristics, especially its abundance in international resources. As of the end of 2017, there were a total of 118 foreign-funded enterprises and 172 Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan-funded enterprises. Large business buildings like China Merchants Bank Tower, East Pacific International Center and Fortune Plaza as well as Fortune Global 500 enterprises like Walmart, Amer International Group and China Merchants Bank have attracted thousands of foreigners to work and live here, of whom 1,299 are registered expats from 57 countries including South Korea, the United States, Australia and Canada, with South Koreans accounting for 46 percent of the registered foreign residents. The Donghai area, which is located in Xiangmihu Subdistrict, has been committed to following the philosophy of promoting community building through project initiation and exchanges through activities since 2011, striving to build an international community by introducing international cultural elements, promoting traditional Chinese culture and integrating foreigners into the local community.
