The 2019 China Marine Economy Expo (CMEE) will be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from Oct. 14-18, according to a press conference held in Beijing on Friday.

The exhibition hall will cover 37,500 square meters, displaying the achievements of the marine economy during the 70 years of New China and showcasing the outstanding construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The expo includes exhibition, forums and business negotiations.

This year’s CMEE will be separated into three sections focused on marine resource development, marine equipment, and shipping and the newly emerging marine industry to showcase the innovation, industry chain and top technologies facilitating the development of the marine economy in China and other parts of the world.

Three major domestic oil companies, namely China National Offshore Oil Corp., China National Petroleum Corp. and China Petrochemical Corp., and international giants like BP, Shell and ConocoPhillips, will be invited to the 2019 CMEE to showcase the achievements in China and the world’s marine economy and to set up a high-quality platform for economic and trade cooperation in the marine industry.

In its seventh year, CMEE has further strengthened the high-quality development of the marine economy and promoted the international cooperation of the blue economy. Holding CMEE in Shenzhen is a historic opportunity for the city to take the lead in practicing the maritime power strategy, the organizers said.
