A firework party will be held at Shenzhen Bay Park from 8 to 8:25 p.m. Tuesday to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

People who intend to watch the fireworks show can apply before midnight Monday via the i深圳 app or the official WeChat account of the Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau.

The app and WeChat account were inaccessible Thursday night due to the large number of applicants, which caused the systems to crash.

Four viewing zones will be set up at Shenzhen Bay Park to allow some 80,000 people to watch the fireworks from the park.

Children less than 1.4 meters tall will only be allowed to enter the zones if they are accompanied by their guardians. They don’t have to make reservations.

Viewers can take Metro Lines 2 or 9, or buses 45, 49, B37, M313, M355, M391, M486, M487 or M530, to Shenzhen Bay Park.

The fireworks party will be live broadcast by new media organizations and TV stations. Shenzhen TV will re-broadcast the party at 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Entrance to the four viewing zones will be opened at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Residents who have successfully made reservations are advised to arrive ahead of time to avoid crowds and peak-hour traffic.

All viewers will have to pass security checks.

People who are unable to arrive at the designated time can cancel their reservations on their phone.

Traffic controls will be imposed on some road sections near the park Tuesday. Residents are reminded to keep up to date on information released by authorities.
