Marine expo highlights blue economy

Local residents can make reservations at www.cimee.com.cn, the official website of the 2019 China Marine Economy Expo, for a free trip to the fair, which will be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from Monday to Thursday.

The expo will be held at Hall 1 and 6, and forums will be held on the sixth floor of the center Tuesday and Wednesday.

The expo is organized by the Shenzhen government and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Guangdong Provincial Government.

As a State-level marine economy expo, it will showcase China's achievements in the marine economy and the latest progress in the global marine industry. It will enhance technology exchanges, product displays, transactions and investment invitations.

Over 420 firms and organizations, including heavyweight players like China National Offshore Oil Corp., China State Shipbuilding Corp., Royal Dutch Shell, Siemens and ABB, will join the event.

Besides exhibitions, the International Marine Economy Cooperation and Development Forum, which is an important event of the expo, will be held to bring top experts and business leaders from home and abroad for discussions around the theme of the future of the blue economy.

Through the forum and parallel seminars, the experts will focus on marine economy prospects, its importance for the global economy, and technological development and the expansion of ocean-based industries.

An exhibition marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China will be held to showcase China's achievements in the marine economy.

The exhibition will be divided into sections, such as ocean resources exploration, ocean equipment, vessels and ports, emerging marine industries, and international cooperation.

Also at the expo, the Bao'an District Government, Yantian Port Group and Ocean University of China will sign an agreement to establish Shenzhen Research Institute of Ocean University of China.

Light shows specially designed for the exposition will be held in the Futian CBD from Monday to Wednesday.
