Line 14 tunnel work speeds up

The tunnel boring machine of China Railway, the contractor of Shenzhen Metro Line 14, started tunneling work on the Zhukeng section after the National Day holiday, according to the WeChat account of Shenzhen Railway Transport.

The eastern line of the section is the longest engineering section of Line 14, running 4.22 kilometers. So far, the contractors have started work at 29 construction sites along the line.

Line 14 runs 50 kilometers from Gangxia in Futian District to Pingshan. It will have 17 stations, one depot and one parking area for trains. The line will adopt automated driving technologies and its designed speed is 120 kilometers per hour. The Pingshan section runs 14.5 kilometers and has six stations.
