The 13th Shenzhen International Finance Expo (Finexpo), alongside the 27th China International Financial Exhibition, will be held in Hall 1 of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from Nov. 4 to 6.

The two exhibitions, covering an area of 30,000 square meters, will be staged concurrently at the same venue in Shenzhen for the first time. Meanwhile, the number of exhibitors has increased by 30 percent compared with that of last year, according to a press conference held yesterday.

Occupying a total of 1,157 booths, banks, securities companies, insurance firms, fintech companies and other financial institutions are expected to showcase their achievements and latest financial projects to visitors.

In addition to renowned domestic financial enterprises, the exhibitions have also attracted over 10 foreign financial institutions, such as HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, RELX Group, Prudential plc and Aviva plc, to attend for the first time.

During the three-day exhibition, there will be more than 20 themed activities, such as the China Financial Development Forum and International Factoring and Supply Chain Finance Conference, which will bring together 3,000 representatives from government agencies, senior executives from financial institutions and industry experts.

“The financial industry is an important pillar industry in Shenzhen, contributing about one-seventh of the city’s GDP and one-fourth of the city’s tax revenue,” said Wu You, deputy secretary general of the city government.

Shenzhen ranks ninth among the world’s leading financial centers in the latest edition of the Global Financial Centers Index published this September, Wu said.
