Shenzhen Bao’an International Marathon is scheduled for Dec. 1 and runners can register at baoanmarathon.iborun.cn or on the designated WeChat account “Bao’an International Marathon (宝安国际马拉松赛)” starting yesterday at 10 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. Sunday, the organizers have said.
The organizers are offering a total of 20,000 spots, including 6,000 for the full-length (42.195 kilometers) and 8,000 for the half-length (21.0975 kilometers) runs, and 6,000 for the happy run (5 kilometers).
Runners will start at Coastal Square in Bao’an District and go along Bao’an Boulevard, which is the main road in the district. The final route will be issued by the Chinese Athletics Association.
Runners will be selected by drawing lots if the number of registrations is beyond the limit. The result is expected to be announced Nov. 8.
It is Bao’an’s third year hosting the Marathon competition and has aroused much attention from the nation, especially after Bao’an Marathon was awarded as the gold competition by the Chinese Athletics Association in 2018.
The first press conference for 2019 Bao’an International Marathon was held Monday afternoon at Bao’an Stadium. Zhou Xueliang, head of the Publicity Department of the Bao’an Municipal Committee of the CPC, attended the meeting.
