Dapeng is trying to lead the city in garbage classification, according to a work plan (2019-2022) released by the new area Monday.
Before the end of 2020, garbage classification will cover the whole area and the entire process, from disposal to collection, transportation and treatment.
The new area will select one urban village in each of the 25 communities to pilot the program and encourage government agencies and schools to set an example for garbage treatment. Different recycling companies will be responsible for different types of garbage.
The new area is now speeding up the construction of an intelligent garbage system in the Baguang core area of Shenzhen International Bio-Valley.
The system adopts advanced, automated pipe pneumatic transport technologies to ensure garbage is collected in an enclosed, noise-free and pollution-free environment.
It will be put into use before the end of 2020. The system is comprised of three parts, namely garbage collection spots, a pneumatic transport system and central collection station.
The new area has designated an area of 6,000 square meters for the centralized handling of used furniture, afforestation waste, fruit waste, hazardous waste and plastic waste.
