16 major projects worth 46.3 billion yuan signed at 2019 Investment Promotion Conference

On the afternoon of 12 July, the 2019 Investment Promotion Conference of Shenzhen was held at the Wuzhou Guest House. 

A total of 16 major investment projects were signed at the Conference, with a total investment of about 46.3 billion yuan. 

Shenzhen Mayor Chen Rugui delivered a speech at the Conference, presented awards to some enterprises, and witnessed the signing of corporate investment projects.  In his speech, Chen introduced the first-class comprehensive ecology of innovation, perfect industrial supporting facilities and a more market-oriented, legalized and international business environment in Shenzhen. 

He said that Shenzhen has been deeply implementing the spirit of the important instructions presented by General Secretary Xi Jinping, and striving to build a pilot demonstration zone with Chinese characteristics and creating a model city within a great modern socialist country. 

In the future, Shenzhen will further deepen the cooperation between Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao, and cooperate with the cities in the Greater Bay Area, like Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao, to build an international innovation center of science and technology. Shenzhen will become a center and a source of international innovations, and build a world-class bay area and city cluster. Shenzhen will also further optimize its business environment, government administration and living conditions, so as to become the best place for global enterprises to start up, innovate, invest and develop.  The Conference has attracted nearly 500 participants from the Fortune Global 500 companies and large multinational corporations, State-owned enterprises, Fortune China 500 companies and industry-leading enterprises. 

At the Conference, 10 foreign-invested enterprises, such as Wal-Mart, were awarded the Shenzhen FIE Past Contribution Award, and 10 foreign-invested enterprises, such as Shenzhen Transsion Holdings Limited, were awarded the 2018 FIE Outstanding Contribution Award. The Commerce Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, focusing on new advantages and opportunities, introduced the investment environment, industrial policies and key guarantees in Shenzhen. Representatives from Futian District, Pingshan District and Guangming District respectively introduced the planning and construction of Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cooperation Zone for Science and Technology Innovation, Pingshan Park of Shenzhen National High-tech Zone and Guangming Science City, etc..  Leaders of the municipal government including Liu Qingsheng, Gao Zimin and Wang Lixin, and Zeng Pai, Secretary-general of the municipal government, attended the Conference.
