Traveling from Shenzhen to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region is very convenient. Many Shenzheners choose Hong Kong and Macao to spend their weekends.

Shenzhen Airport Checkpoint 

The Shenzhen International Airport is the first airport built mainly with local investment in China. The newly built airport terminal covers an area of 450,000 square meters and was designed to receive 45 million passengers annually with up to 20% of them being international travelers. You could easily get to the airport by taking Metro Line 1 to the Airport East station, or Metro Line 11 to the Airport station.The airport also boasts modern air cargo terminals and cargo aprons, equipped with a modern cargo handling system as well as an automatic mechanical system to store and deliver freight. At the Fuyong Dock adjacent to the airport, three 1,000-ton multi-functional berths and four 500-ton passenger berths are built. Currently, three routes have been opened, including the SZ-HK route, the SZ-Macao route, and the SZ-Zhongshan route.

Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High Speed Train West Kowloon Station Checkpoint 

Located in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong West Kowloon Station Checkpoint is an international railway passenger checkpoint open all year round. Following the “Two Inspections at One Place” mode, the checkpoint is divided into the Hong Kong Checkpoint area and the Mainland Checkpoint area with each side conducting separate Exit and Entry Inspections according to respective laws. The West Kowloon Station covers a floor area of 380,000 square meters and was designed to receive 200,000 travelers every day.

Luohu Checkpoint 

Luohu Checkpoint is a major land checkpoint. The checkpoint is connected with Lo Wu Station of Hong Kong MTR's East Rail Line, and Luohu Station of Shenzhen Metro's Line 1. It is the busiest checkpoint in Shenzhen. Almost one hundred million people use the annually.

Operation time: 6:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. every day

Location: Luohu District


Futian Checkpoint 

The checkpoint is connected with Lok Ma Chau Station of Hong Kong MTR's East Rail Line, and Futian Checkpoint Station of Shenzhen Metro's Line 4. After going through Futian Checkpoint, you can take the East Rail Line to travel Hong Kong.

Operation time: 6:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m. every day

Huanggang Checkpoint 

Huanggang checkpoint, close to Shenzhen city center, is one of the five most important ports that connect the city and Hong Kong. On its west is the start of the Guangshen Expressway, which is the main thoroughfare connecting Shenzhen and Hong Kong. At present, it is both the largest comprehensive road crossings for passengers and cargo in China and one of the largest land crossings. Every day, about 20,000 vehicles pass through it. At the same time, it is also a passenger transit point. It is the second busiest in Shenzhen after Luohu Port.

Operation time: 24 hours every day

Location: Futian District

Tips: Currently, Huanggang Checkpoint is only open to cargo inspection. Passenger and vehicle clearance services will be available in due course.


Shekou Ferry Terminal 

Located in Shekou, Nanshan District, Shenzhen Prince Bay Cruise Homeport runs direct ferry connections from Shenzhen to destinations across the Pearl River Delta. You can take a ferry at the Shekou Prince Bay Cruise Homeport to reach Hong Kong and Macao. Taxis are available in the parking area. A free shuttle bus service links with the old Shekou Ferry Terminal, near exit C of the Shenzhen Metro Shekou Port Station. A bus depot is located near the station offering services across the city.

Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint 

Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint is located in Dongjiaotou, Shekou, which lies on the southwestern corner of Shenzhen. Its Hong Kong counterpart is the Shenzhen Bay Control Point, which is co-located in the same building.

Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint is the first boundary control point with the immigration facilities of the Hong Kong side co-located in the same passenger terminal building with the mainland side. This allows passengers and vehicles for departure and arrival customs clearance to take place within a short distance. You can take Bus 31, 90, 98, 123, 217, 245 to Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint.

Location: Nanshan District


Wenjindu Checkpoint 

Not so many people passing by at this port compared to Luohu, as this port is a private car crossing only, connecting Shenzhen with Hong Kong between Luohu and New Territories.

When you arrive, you will stop at the Shenzhen China Gate House, exit the car and enter the building. After the immigration process is completed you can drive across the border. When you arrive at Hong Kong Immigration, you are not required to exit the car. Just pass your documents to the officer and he will do what is necessary. Then you will drive into Hong Kong.

Shatoujiao Checkpoint 

Located in Yantian District, Shatoujiao Checkpoint is suitable for travelers who want to visit Dameisha, Xiaomeisha, Shatoujiao, Nan’ao and so on. Passengers seldom choose this port as entering Hong Kong’s Sha Tau Kok area requires a special pass.

Liantang Checkpoint

Liantang Checkpoint is the seventh road checkpoint between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, functioning as a comprehensive passenger and cargo checkpoint. The main building of Liantang Checkpoint adopts an elevated design: the first floor is for cargo inspection and the second floor is for the travelers’ inspection. The anticipated capacity is 30,000 passengers/day and 17,850 vehicles/day, including 15,000 trucks/day, 2,000 minibuses/day and 850 buses/day.

Operation time: (cargo inspection) 7:00-22:00

Location: Luohu District

Tips: Currently, Liantang Checkpoint is open to cargo inspection only from 7:00 to 22:00 every day. Passenger and vehicle clearance services will be available in due course after consultation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
