Meaning:
“稳”means “being stable or secure.” “稳” is a pictographic character consisting of two parts structurally. In the ancient Chinese dictionary Shuo Wen Jie Zi, “稳” is defined as “to separate the husk from the rice and to thresh the grain.” In old times when there was a lack of food, it was often said that “grain in your hand, ease in your mind.” Therefore the character refers to a sense of stability or security.
