Enterprises engaged in the production and logistics of epidemic prevention and control materials can apply for an employment subsidy of 1,000 yuan (US$142) per each new recruit.

The move is aimed to solve a labor shortage and relieve the burden on enterprises that have expanded production during the epidemic prevention and control period, according to a release by the Shenzhen Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.

Eligible enterprises can register at https://sipub.sz.gov.cn/suum/goLoginNew.do and submit an application at https://hrsspub.sz.gov.cn/ggjyfw/ on the Shenzhen Public Employment Service Platform official website.

To help work resumption, the bureau organized 10 buses and carried 272 laborers from Chongzuo, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to work in the city Thursday. The chartered buses, belonging to a cross-province transport service, are one aspect of the bureau’s measures to attract laborers to work in Shenzhen. By Wednesday, the bureau and its branches had arranged to send 4,641 laborers to the city by bus and train.

To avoid overcrowding, each bus was only filled to half capacity. The workers were provided with masks and food along the way. Police officers accompanied the rides to ensure safety. Laborers were sent to factories after temperature checks confirmed normal readings.

Shenzhen commercial and retailing enterprises whose revenue in 2019 was 100 million yuan more than that in 2018 are eligible for rewards. Eligible enterprises can receive 500,000 yuan rewards for every revenue increase of 100 million yuan. Rewards are capped at 10 million yuan.

The move is aimed to encourage commercial enterprises to expand businesses and beef up confidence in the industry, the city’s commerce bureau said Wednesday.

The industrial and commercial enterprises can get six-month subsidies for sewage treatment between February and July, according to a document jointly released by Shenzhen Water Affairs Bureau, Shenzhen Finance Bureau, and Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission on Wednesday.

The subsidy, around 420 million yuan, is calculated on the basis of the fees collected between February and July in 2019, the water affairs bureau said.
