Students in their final year of senior and junior high schools will resume lessons April 27 while primary school students and other middle school students await further notice, a source from the Shenzhen Municipal Education Bureau said Thursday based on the requirements of the provincial education authority.

Schools across Guangdong Province will begin to reopen starting April 27, Guangdong Provincial Education Bureau announced Thursday. Students in their final year of senior and junior schools will go back to class April 27.

Elementary and middle school students in other grades will be arranged to resume lessons in different batches after May 11 dependent upon the local condition of prevention and control of the novel coronavirus.

Qualified colleges can also arrange for their students in the final year to attend school after May 11.

College students in other grades and secondary vocational school students will be allowed to resume on-campus study after May 18.

The back-to-school timing for kindergartens and special education school students is currently undecided.

All the off-campus training institutions are banned from giving offline lessons before the kindergartens reopen.

Schools that meet the requirements for school resumption can arrange their teachers and staff to return to work one week before the school reopens. Preparation for virus prevention and control at school, as well as the educational preparation, must be done in advance.
