Updates on COVID-19 cases in Shenzhen (April 18)

On April 17, Shenzhen confirmed 1 new COVID-19 case. As of midnight of April 17, the city had confirmed a total of 460 cases.

Domestic cases

1 new domestic case was confirmed on April 17, bringing the number of domestic cases confirmed in the city to 421. The patient came from Hubei Province. 

Imported cases

No new imported case was confirmed on April 17. The number of imported cases confirmed in the city remains 39. 

Asymptomatic cases

No new asymptomatic case was reported on April 17. Currently, 30 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation, among which 13 came from outside the Chinese mainland.

Of the confirmed cases, 228 are male and 232 are female. 

So far, 429 patients have been discharged from hospital after recovery, and 3 deaths have been reported. 

All of the 28 patients are being treated at Shenzhen No. 3 People’s Hospital. 193 persons in close contact with the patients are under medical observation.
