Updates on COVID-19 cases in Shenzhen (May 8)

On May 7, Shenzhen confirmed no new COVID-19 case and reported no new asymptomatic case. As of midnight of May 7, the city had confirmed a total of 462 cases, among which only 1 is still receiving treatment in hospital. 

Domestic cases

No new domestic case was confirmed on May 7. The number of domestic cases confirmed in the city remains 423. 

Imported cases

No new imported case was confirmed on May 7. The number of imported cases confirmed in the city remains 39. 

Asymptomatic cases

No new asymptomatic case was reported on May 7. Currently, 3 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation, among which 1 came from outside the Chinese mainland.

Of the confirmed cases, 229 are male and 233 are female. 

So far, 458 patients have been discharged from hospital after recovery, and 3 deaths have been reported. 1 patient is being treated at the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen. 42 persons in close contact with the patients are under medical observation.
