Meaning:
In Chinese, “元气” means “inner energy,” while in Japanese, it means “health.” “满满” means “full of.” Therefore, this term, coined by Chinese netizens, describes a person’s good health and feeling full of energy. It’s also associated with the natural glow of a youthful skin. Having been in use for a few years, the term caught people’s attention again recently when Charles Lu, chairman of Luckin Coffee, posted on WeChat Moments that he and his team “would be full of energy” after the company announced it had committed serious fraud in its financial reports. Lu later apologized for his remarks.
