Line 2 and 9 extended to 11:30 p.m.

The last train services from Xinxiu to Chiwan on Metro Line 2, from Qianwan to Maling and from Wenjin to Shenzhen Bay Park on Line 9 have been extended to 11:30 p.m. starting from yesterday, according to sznews.com.

The first train on Line 2 from Xinxiu to Chiwan starts service from 6 a.m.

To relieve crowding during the rush hours on workdays, Shenzhen Metro Group, the operator, will cut the train intervals from 3 minutes to 2 minutes and 40 seconds on Line 2 from Xinxiu to Chiwan between 8:22 a.m. and 8:36 a.m.

During the off-peak period, the intervals of trains on both directions on Line 2 will be cut from 6 minutes to 5 minutes and 45 seconds according to the new schedule.

The train intervals of Line 7 during the morning and evening peak hours will be cut from 4 minutes to 3 minutes and 45 seconds. Line 9 will be cut to 4 minutes. The new operation schedule will improve the capacity of trains on the three lines by 2.32 percent, 3.88 percent and 4.20 percent, respectively.

Additionally, the first train of Line 1 from Luohu and Airport East stations starts at 6:20 a.m. during the weekends.

The last trains from Luohu to Qianhaiwan and from Airport East to Zhuzilin on Line 1 were extended to 11:40 p.m. on weekends.

The ridership of seven lines operated by Shenzhen Metro Group have resumed by 90 percent to the level of pre-COVID-19 period.
