Online job fair for college graduates held

Shenzhen initiated a 2-month-long online job fair by offering more than 54,000 posts to college graduates.

College graduates and enterprises can attend the fair by visiting http://hrss.sz.gov.cn, the official website of the organizer, the Shenzhen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.

The online job fair that will last until the end of August covers seven industries: IT and Internet, medical care and biopharmacy, finance, 5G communication, real estate and architecture, manufacturing and logistics.

More than 2,200 companies including BYD, DJI, Bio-Kangtai, ZTE, China Merchants Securities and Foxconn have signed up for the fair, offering 54,024 positions.

Since March, the city’s human resources and social security bureau has organized several job fairs for the employment of college graduates. Earlier in June, the bureau and education department jointly organized recruitment tests for 1,382 teaching posts at primary and middle schools.

In another development, the average monthly salary offered by employers over the summer period in Shenzhen is 10,565 yuan (US$1,497), according to a report released Wednesday by Zhaopin.com, a major online recruitment platform in China.

Among the job vacancies offered by employers, 54 percent are above 8,000 yuan a month and 24.5 percent range between 6,000 and 8,000 yuan monthly.

The salaries in the trust, guarantee, auction and pawn sectors are the highest with the average standing at 14,614 yuan. The average salary in the funds, securities, futures and investment sectors is 14,288 yuan a month, followed by 14,282 yuan a month in the insurance sector, according to the report.
