All imported frozen meat and aquatic products must go through package disinfection and nucleic acid tests at a centralized supervision warehouse starting from today, before they are distributed for storage, sales and processing.

The warehouse is located at Youxin Food City in Nanwan Subdistrict, Longgang District, according to a notice issued by the city’s COVID-19 prevention and control headquarters yesterday.

The move is aimed to reduce the risks of the public being infected by coronavirus and to cut the spread of the virus to the greatest extent.

The product owners must fill in the commodity information of the goods, drivers, and the destinations of the goods. If they knowingly provide false information, it will be reflected in the city’s social credit system.

The goods in the warehouse can only be distributed after passing checks and tests, and having obtained certificates. Those without the certificates will not be allowed to be kept, sold or processed in Shenzhen starting from today.

The commodity owners can apply online for centralized disinfection and tests. The headquarters will issue separate notices regarding online reservations.

Cargo owners are advised to pick up their cargo within a designated time period, but are not allowed to transport commodities in batches.

The government will bear the costs of tests and disinfection. If the owners fail to pick up commodities at the designated time, they will bear the cost incurred beyond the deadline.

The products will be disposed of if they test positive for the virus, the notice said.
