The insurance industry offered the highest monthly salary, 13,845 yuan (US$2,029), among industries in the autumn job market while the city’s average was 10,453 yuan, ranking third among 38 major cities in the country.

In Shenzhen, positions with an average monthly salary over 8,000 yuan accounted for 53.8 percent of the total opportunities in the job market.
There were only 2.3 percent of job positions with an average monthly wage below 4,000 yuan.
The top five industries in the job market in terms of competitiveness are computer software; real estate, architecture, building materials and engineering; IT services; Internet and e-businesses and funds, securities, futures and investment.
Business outsourcing services industry, which ranked fifth in terms of competitiveness in the job market in the last quarter, was out of the top five places this fall.
The job positions that saw highest competition among jobseekers this fall are traffic transport services, IT quality management, testing, configuration management and senior management.
