The video of an armless woman walking a catwalk during Shenzhen Fashion Week has gained popularity on social media.

In the video, the woman, wearing a sleeveless top and a light green tiered dress, walks confidently on the stage of the Shenzhen Fashion Week.

The woman is Lei Qingyao, born in Leshan City in Sichuan Province.

When she was 3, Lei accidentally lost both of her arms while picking up a paper plane that landed in a transformer.

Nevertheless, 27 years passed, Lei has now walked a broad way for her life by her feet and legs.

She has caught up eating, writing and painting by her feet. Lei is definitely a “slash young woman,” a young professional with multiple professions: host/athlete for the Paralympic Games/heroine in the movie “Invisible wings” /founder of a clothing brand.

Lei was invited to attend the fashion show as an audience member in late October. Instead, she came up with the idea to give a show on stage because the theme, “Reshape,” touched her profoundly.

“We face all kinds of loss since the time we were born, but every loss reshapes our life, making us more perfect,” Lei said.

She intensely asked for sleeveless clothes to walk a show, displaying the real Lei.

After she posted her catwalk video on Douyin, a short-video platform, many netizens applauded her self-confidence as her most beautiful attribute.

In contrast, some netizens didn’t accept Lei’s show, and some were even frightened by it.

Lei didn’t mind the criticism and responded: “This is me. I dress like this on usual days.”

She hopes, by doing so, people can see more different people in society.
