The central business district (CBD) of Xili, in northern Nanshan District, will cover 696 hectares and become an area of aggregating newly emerged industries and a comprehensive auxiliary service area for Xili International Science and Education Town.
According to a draft development plan released by the Nanshan planning authority, Xili CBD is located in the area encompassed by Shahe West Road in the east, Chaguang Road and Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway in the south, Longchang Road and Liuxiandong Village in the west, and Xili Reservoir and Shiyan-Tiegang Reservoir in the north.
It will be developed and coordinated through Liuxiandong Strategic and Emerging Industry Headquarters Base and Xili Transportation Hub, which will provide high-end services, industrial innovation services, life auxiliary facilities and public service facilities.
As for the spatial structure, it will be an area with three axes, three centers and multiple clusters. The three axes refer to the life and landscaping axis along Liuxian Boulevard, a high-end industrial development axis along Tongfa Road and an ecological axis along the central area featuring integration of industry, education and research. The three centers refer to Xili business service center and two business service centers in Liuxiandong Headquarters Base. Multiple clusters refer to the clusters of education, research and manufacturing, and life auxiliary facilities.
Xili area is surrounded by Tanglang Mountain in the east, and Shenzhen Reservoir and Shiyan-Tiegang Reservoir in the north.
Considering its existing resources, the district will build a spatial structure of combined ecological corridors, parks and slow-traffic system, linking the mountainous areas and urban built-up areas like headquarters bases and urban centers.
