Meaning:
Literally translated as “let the bullets fly a while,” this saying borrows from Chinese director Jiang Wen’s 2010 movie “Let the Bullets Fly.” It is now used as a metaphor for “it’s better to leave things as they are and see what happens next,” especially when the speaker is confident that things will develop as expected.
Example:
A: 你不是说这家公司今年业绩好，怎么股价一直都不涨？
Nǐ búshì shuō zhèjiā gōngsī jīnnián yèjì hǎo，zěnme gǔjià yīzhí dōu bù zhǎng？
You’ve said that this company had good financial reports this year, but why hasn’t its stock price soared?
