The number of COVID-19 testing sites in Shenzhen had been increased to 355 as of Tuesday, and more testing sites will open in the following days to meet needs, according to the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission.

The 355 COVID-19 testing sites include 59 hospitals, 291 community health centers and five pandemic prevention and health-care centers.

Citizens can make reservations for nucleic acid tests on site at the 291 community health centers, and some hospitals have also provided on-site reservation services, said the commission.

The commission suggests that citizens make an appointment online through its official WeChat account “szwjwwx” (深圳卫健委) or through the WeChat miniprogram “社康通” (shekangtong) during the pandemic.

After an online reservation is successfully made, citizens should bring their ID card and medical insurance card, wear a mask, and present their health code at the location of the reservation. A nucleic acid test can be done at health institutions in as little as 10 minutes.

The “iShenzhen” (i深圳) app has also launched a service for nucleic acid testing appointments, a source from the city’s government services data bureau said.

Additionally, the Longgang District Maternity & Child Health-care Hospital has rolled out four services of nucleic acid testing.

The services are: nighttime nucleic acid testing from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; inpatient nucleic acid test, with results available within six hours; tests for those returning to rural areas during the Spring Festival holiday, with results available on the day of the test; and test results in Chinese, English, German, French, Japanese, Korean and Russian.

Citizens who need a foreign-language version of the test results can tell the doctor at the time of sampling and receive the results at the emergency triage counter at the time given by the doctor, according to the hospital.
