A memorial hall in Songgang Subdistrict, renovated from the Chen family ancestral hall in Yanchuan Village, has been used to commemorate the first Bao’an CPC Committee Congress and as a Party history education base.

Entering the hall, three statues are erected to commemorate Huang Xuezeng, CPC’s Bao’an organization founder and secretary of the Bao’an branch of the CPC Committee, Zheng Shinan, secretary of the first Bao’an CPC Committee, and Chen Xizhen, a representative participating in the first Congress of the Bao’an CPC Committee.

On Feb, 23, 1928, the first Congress of the Bao’an CPC Committee was held in the hall with 19 participating members. It was the first and only Party congress in the Bao’an area during the Great Revolution Period. In the years that followed, the hall had become a place for the CPC to lead the farmers’ revolution in the Shenzhen area.

In 1999, Bao’an District designated the site as a protected culture relic and renovated it in 2000. It was opened to the public in June 2001 with displays showing the Party’s revolutionary activities in the Bao’an area.
