Job fair to be held for college graduates in Oct.

A job fair for college graduates is being prepared in the city. The in-person event will be held Oct. 10 in Hall 1 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District.

The job fair’s online session will be held from Oct. 1 to Nov. 30 at http://szggjy.zshr.cn, according to the Shenzhen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau on Tuesday.

Interested employers can now apply for a booth at the job fair before Sept. 15 and must submit required materials to the website between Aug. 2 and Nov. 30.

Shenzhen-based enterprises, with at least 20 job positions in more than five categories suitable for fresh graduates and those still unemployed within two years of graduation, are eligible for a booth at the job fair free of charge.

The city’s human resources bureau also stated how they plan to encourage renowned Shenzhen-based companies from industries supported by the city to sign up, with the hopes of recruiting graduates at the job fair. These industries include those widely considered the pillars, namely high-tech, finance, modern logistics and cultural and creative industries and strategic emerging industries. These strategic industries include information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, green and low-carbon, marine economy and biopharmacy industries.

All 2021 graduates in China, graduates who haven’t been employed within two years of graduation, graduates from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and students returning from abroad, are welcome to attend the fair.

It is expected that the offline job fair will attract more than 650 companies and over 30,000 graduates, while it is estimated more than 1,000 firms and over 20,000 graduates are going to attend the online session.
