BYD listed among most influential companies

BYD Co. Ltd. (BYD) was listed as an “Innovator” in Time Magazine’s newly announced “2021 Time 100 Most Influential Companies” list Tuesday, which has great influence around the globe.

BYD is one of China’s largest auto manufacturing enterprises, a strong competitor of Tesla in China’s electric vehicle market. It made this year’s list with a lineup that includes Moderna, Ninetendo, Zoom and Netflix.

BYD was selected for its achievements in the electric bus manufacturing business and electric passenger car business, including the new luxury sedan, according to Time magazine.

The introduction under the headline “Scaling Electric Transport” also mentioned the company’s business in the U.S. and Europe as well as a partnership to build Japan’s first pure electric bus line.

Stella Li, executive vice president of BYD and president of BYD Motors Inc., said that “We are honored Time recognized BYD for its contributions to the transportation business worldwide. Our proven innovative technology for cars, buses, trucks, forklifts and rail systems combats climate change and creates new jobs. We are proud to be a leader and influencer.”

According to Time, the list was solicited through nominations from its global network of editors, correspondents and industry experts in sectors including health care, entertainment, transportation and technology. Each company was evaluated on key factors including relevance, impact, innovation, leadership, ambition and success.
