Wanghai Road in Nanshan District is expected to be reconstructed into a channel complex consisting of an underground expressway and an above-ground road, the city’s transport authority announced recently.

Construction of the project is anticipated to start this year and the construction period is 72 months.

According to the announcement, Wanghai Road is located in the southernmost part of Nanshan District, connecting Xinghai Boulevard in the west and Shahe West Road in the east.

The scope of the project will reach Xinghai Boulevard in the west. The route goes along the Taizi Bay area, Sea World, Dongjiaotou, Houhai and Shenzhen Bay Port area. The eastern section of the Taizi Bay area is a six-lane dual carriageway, while the west section is a two-way four-lane road. The speed limit for the ramp is 40k m/h.

The section above the ground is in line with the urban trunk road’s standards. Its design speed is 40 km/h. The eastern section of Zhongxin Road is a four-lane dual carriageway, and the west section is a two-way four-lane road.
