The 9th China Charity Fair will be held Sept. 17-19 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, the fair’s organizing committee announced Wednesday.

Around the theme of “Congregating Philanthropic Strength and Invigorating Rural Rejuvenation,” the organizers will set up three exhibition halls on philanthropy and rural rejuvenation, beautiful village experience and charitable culture. The halls will exhibit charities for poverty alleviation, new philosophies, patterns and achievements in promoting rural rejuvenation and charitable undertaking.

Those seeking to be exhibitors can apply at http://www.cncf.org.cn, the official website of the organizing committee.

The fair will be cooperatively hosted by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, All China Federation of Industry and Commerce, China Charity Alliance, and Guangdong and Shenzhen governments.

The China Public Welfare Project Contest will be held to choose the demonstrative and guiding projects that are helpful for sustainable development and rural rejuvenation.

The annual event was first held in Shenzhen in 2012 as a State-level, comprehensive and internationalized charity fair, and it attracted 9,747 organizations with 2,390 different projects at an estimated worth of nearly 66.4 billion yuan (US$10 billion) in eight years.

More than 1,500 public welfare and charitable activities have been held in the past events, with a total of nearly 1.3 million visitors having attended the fair so far, according to the organizing committee.
