Arrivals to Shenzhen who have been to cities that have recently reported COVID-19 cases should report to their communities as soon as possible, Shenzhen Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said yesterday.
People who have traveled to the cities of Putian and Quanzhou in Fujian Province after Aug. 27, those with travel trajectories related to confirmed COVID-19 cases, and those with yellow or red health codes are required to report to their communities, said the CDC.
These arrivals are also required to comply with the city’s epidemic prevention and control measures such as nucleic acid testing, medical observation or health monitoring.
Local residents are reminded to pay close attention to the epidemic situation of the country’s medium- and high-risk areas for COVID-19 and avoid unnecessary travel to these areas in the near term.
Fujian on Sunday reported 22 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases — one in Xiamen, six in Quanzhou and 15 cases in Putian, and 13 new cases of local asymptomatic infections in Putian, the Fujian Provincial Health Commission said yesterday. The province has reported a total of 43 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases since Sept. 10.
As of 1 p.m. yesterday, there were one high-risk area for COVID-19 and four medium-risk areas in China. The high-risk area and three medium-risk areas are located in Putian and the other medium-risk area is in Ruili City in Yunnan Province.
According to health experts, Putian’s epidemic situation is severe and complex. It is highly possible that more COVID cases will be reported in communities and factories, and there are risks of epidemic spillover.
