Shenzhen Metro will extend its services by one hour to meet holidaymakers’ demand for the coming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays.
On Sept. 18 and 21, two days of Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, and Sept. 30, Oct. 1 and 7, three days of the National Day holiday, Metro services will be extended by an hour, except Line 11 by 30 minutes, according to Shenzhen Metro Group yesterday.
Service hours will range between 6:20 a.m. and midnight. In addition, seven lines that provide half-way final train services will extend their services by 30-40 minutes. Line 1 from Luohu to Qianhaiwan, and from Airport East to Zhuzilin, and Line 11 from Futian to Songgang will be extended to 12:40 a.m. Line 3 from Shuanglong to Huaxin, and Fubao to Tangkeng; Line 6 from Songgang to Meilinguan, and from Kexueguan to Fenghuangcheng; and Line 7 from Taian to Antuoshan, and Xili Lake to Shenyun will be extended to 12:30 a.m.
Line 9 from Wenjin to Shenzhen Bay Park, and from Qianwan to Zailing; and Line 10 from Futian Checkpoint to Gankeng will also be extended to 12:30 a.m.
As the holidays are approaching, stations at Shenzhen Bay Park, Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, Window of the World and Children’s Palace will see heavy passenger flows for leisure and sightseeing; while Shenzhen North Railway Station, Luohu Railway Station and Airport Station will see surge of travelers.
