TEAM WANG Design opens pop-up store in town

TEAM WANG Design, a fashion streetwear brand founded by Hong Kong star Jackson Wang, opened its first pop-up store in town at MixC World in Nanshan District on Sunday to mark the release of the brands’ third fashion collection.

Wang showed up wearing a jacket, sweatpants and a beanie from the new collection together with the members of his music team “PANTHEPACK” at an exclusive event held for media outlets and KOLs on Saturday.

The new collection “STANDARD” releases a total of 13 items including T-shirt, sweat shirt, tracksuit, bucket hat, cap, beanie and a down coat, all featuring TEAM WANG Design’s minimalist all-black design, monogram motifs and signature metal eyelet accessories.

Wang states that the collection is launched with an intention to let people better understand themselves and better define the standard of happiness.

At the pop-up store, whose exterior is inspired by the façade of the Great Wall, visitors can appreciate thematic art installations inspired by the Chinese chessboard and pieces and take photos with TEAM WANG Design’s “Invisible Man” avatar, which will be presenting outfits from the new collection at the store.

The brand opened two pop-up stores in Shanghai to mark the debut of its previous two collections, “Original” and “Velvet,” and has collaborated with renowned designer brands such as Palm Angels from Italy to launch some special capsule collections.

The new collection is now available on TEAM WANG Design’s official website and WeChat miniprogram and in the pop-up store.

Once a Junior Olympic-level saber fencer, the Hong Kong star rose to fame by serving as a member of the popular K-pop boy band GOT7 from South Korea’s JYP Entertainment. He founded his own company "TEAM Wang" in 2017 and his own fashion brand in 2020.
