The 19th China International Agricultural Trade Fair (CATF), featuring over 20,000 enterprises with more than 100,000 exhibit types, will be held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an District from Nov. 12 to 15.

The four-day event will promote agricultural product brands and highlight China’s achievements in agricultural and rural development, as well as agricultural trade cooperation, according to a press conference held by the Shenzhen Municipal Government Information Office at the Civic Center in Futian District yesterday.

At the conference, Tang Ke, head of the market and informatization department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, said that this year’s CATF will fully display via a themed exhibition the brilliant achievements in work concerning agriculture, rural areas and farmers under the Party’s leadership over the past century.

This year’s CATF exhibition area will cover 300,000 square meters, making it the world’s largest indoor agricultural exhibition. The fair will also offer various activities, including a digital countryside development forum.

The fair will set up 16 specialized exhibition areas for grain and oil, fruits and vegetables, livestock and poultry, aquatic products, tea, agricultural science and technology, and agricultural facilities and equipment to display the whole industrial chain’s production factors.

“The Night of Brands,” the fair’s first major event, will be staged on the evening of Nov. 11. A group of well-known online celebrities will be invited to promote the sales of branded agricultural products.

In addition, the fair will have an exhibition section to showcase the country’s achievements in poverty alleviation and rural revitalization via developing industries.

According to official data, the transaction volume of CATF’s 17th and 18th sessions exceeded 38 billion yuan (US$5.89 billion) and 40 billion yuan, respectively.

The 19th CATF is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Guangdong Provincial Government.
