Top graphic designers hailed

This year’s Graphic Design in China (GDC) Awards ceremony was held at Raffles Shenzhen in Nanshan District on Saturday. The day also witnessed the opening ceremony for the exhibition of works submitted to the competition.

A total of 33 internationally renowned designers from countries including China, the U.S., Germany and Singapore reviewed the submitted works. In the professional group, 13 gold, 25 silver and 42 bronze medals were awarded. In the student group, four gold, 20 silver, 28 bronze and 28 jury medals were given. Winning designers came from China, Japan and France, among others.

All the 448 finalists’ works in object and video forms are displayed at the GDC Award exhibition in OCT Creative Exhibition Center in Nanshan District. It will run through Jan. 7 and will tour several cities in China as well as overseas next year.

The GDC Awards, set up in Shenzhen in 1992, is held every two years and attracts designers from all over the world to participate. It’s also one of the 10 best activities of Shenzhen Creative December.
