"Shenzhen's fast response is amazing,” commented Sofia Alvare from Mexico on her WeChat on Monday night after forwarding an article with a title that goes “Shenzhen found no new COVID cases with some 22.18 million nucleic acid test samples collected,” reported.

Alvare learned from the news that Shenzhen found two locally transmitted COVID-19 cases Jan. 7 and some of her friends living at Buji in Longgang District were put under health monitoring.

On the way to her office Jan. 7, Alvare found several COVID testing sites were set up in Futian. She did the test at one site near her home and as of Tuesday, Alvare had taken a total of four nucleic acid tests.

“Long lines for testing with no complaints heard. Everyone follows instructions delivered by volunteers and medical workers,” Alvare said.

Alvare, who works at Huaqiangbei in Futian District, said: “A negative nucleic acid test result within 48 hours was required to enter my office building, gymnasium and my community. This is for the safety of all, I can understand.

“Medical staff and citizens are supportive to the city’s pandemic prevention work. I believe the current resurgence of COVID cases will not last long.”
