Buying flowers is a Chinese New Year custom in Guangdong. Every year, temporary flower markets are set up in every subdistrict across the city one week before the Spring Festival. If you would like to buy some durable flowers at cheaper prices, you can also check out some fixed flower markets, or visit some shopping centers where flower and gift booths have been set up.

Xiangmihu Flower Wonderland

Covering 50,000 square meters, this newly opened grand flower center includes a five-story central market and eight houses where there are not only flower shops but also teahouses, pottery shops and aquarium shops. Temporary booths have also been set up there for the upcoming Spring Festival where shoppers can buy fresh flowers and Chinese New Year decorations.
