Twelve contemporary artists and designers invite you to “The Elephant Wanders Around Dreams,” a dream-themed exhibition at MixC World in Nanshan District.

Through media including paintings, videos, sculptures, costumes and installations, visitors can dive into layers of “dreams” and experience “dreams” in an artistic way.

The exhibition is divided into five sections: “To the Dreamland,” “Light Dreams,” “Deep Dreams,” “Fantasy Dreams” and “Lucid Dreaming.”

A painting by Wang Xiaoxiao.

Dabeiyuzhou (Lin Kunhao) is known for creating virtual worlds in his works. His video “Virtual Butterflies” uses an artificial intelligence (AI) program that shows changing butterflies on screens. Every second it generates four different types of butterflies. Thus far, the program has produced butterflies in 1 million categories, which significantly exceeds the categories in reality.

Having studied in France for years, Fansack found his own art style: All his works focus on religions, science and technology. The “Monkeys and Aliens” series is his most symbolic creation.

Graduating from the University of the Arts London and now based in Tokyo as a designer, Siliji is also a popular vlogger in China. He tends to use soft colors to bring tender feelings to the audience.

Song Santu, an artist who is regarded as the “Picasso in the new age,” is known for her bold use of colors. She sets female self-consciousness as her key spirit in her work.

Wang Xiaoxiao is an illustrator based in Shanghai; she obtained her master’s degree at Central Saint Martins in London. Her artworks originate from daily life and are full of a sense of storytelling.
