The move came after no new COVID-19 cases or asymptomatic infections were found in the lockdown, control and prevention areas relevant to the housing compound in the last 14 days since Feb. 20, and all the area’s residents completed two rounds of nucleic acid testing with all negative results.
Nanshan tightened its anti-COVID measures by designating a lockdown, control and prevention areas for COVID-19 in Shekou on Feb. 20, after a trucker from Hong Kong who tested positive for COVID was found to have violated epidemic prevention rules.
The district designated Building 5 in Yonglexincun as a lockdown area, where residents must stay at home and door-to-door delivery service is provided.
Apart from Building 5, other buildings in Yonglexincun were designated as the control area, where residents must stay in the residential compound and gatherings are prohibited.
The prevention area started and ended at Shekou New Street, and was bounded by Wanxia, Huaguo, Zhaoshang East, Airong, Gongye Seventh and Houhaibin roads. Gatherings are strictly limited in the prevention area with anti-COVID measures in place.
The district designated Block B of Building 1 at Nanguangchengshihuayuan housing compound in Nanshan Subdistrict, as a lockdown area Sunday.
Apart from the locked-down building, other buildings in Nanguangchengshihuayuan as well as Zhenglongcun housing compound were designated as the control area. The prevention area was bounded by Binhai and Nanhai boulevards, and Dengliang and Nanxin roads.
