Shenzhen's Metro service, excluding Line 20, will be extended for one hour to midnight Friday, Saturday and May 4 for May Day holidaymakers, the operator announced Monday.

For those three days, the Metro, which includes lines 3, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10, will continue to offer halfway final train services extending to 12:30 a.m., while lines 1 and 11 will extend final train services to 12:40 a.m.

The operator estimates that the travel peak will arrive Friday, the last work day, and stations like Window of the World, Shenzhen Bay Park, Children’s Palace and Luohu will see a passenger surge Saturday, the first day of the holiday.

In another development, the ferry service from Shenzhen Airport Port to Zhongshan will resume starting Friday. The service for bus M590 running between the port and T3 of Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport will also resume.

Passengers to Zhongshan via the service need to show their health code and a negative 72-hour nucleic acid test report upon boarding and declare their travel history via the “深i您” miniprogram.

There are four ferry services from Shenzhen Airport Port to Zhongshan between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday. Between Saturday and May 4, the ferries departing from Shenzhen will operate between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
